I absolutely love almond butter! It's probably my favorite out of all the nut butters. The only problem is that it's usually quite expensive and sometimes hard to find. So I started making my own homemade almond butter and couldn't believe how easy it was! It also works out so much cheaper than any store bought almond butter which is a huge bonus too!
I love eating it for breakfast drizzled on Overnight Oats or also spread on toast or even a slice of Banana Bread. You can also enjoy it as a snack with yogurt bowls with fruit and Homemade Granola. The list goes on!
Once you make your own homemade almond butter, trust me you'll never buy it again! It's also super customisable as you can make different flavor variations by adding ingredients such as maple syrup or cinnamon.
You can also use this same method and make other nut butter variations such as peanut butter, cashew butter or a combination of nuts.

Ingredients to make this Almond Butter Recipe
- Almonds are the only ingredient you will need! It's best to buy good quality raw almonds and then roast them yourself
- Sea salt is optional, but I love adding a good pinch of salt at the end of the blending process for a touch of saltiness
- Optional additions, you can choose to add additional ingredients such as honey, maple syrup, vanilla extract, cinnamon to make other flavor variations.
You can also add additional nuts such as cashews, pecans, peanuts or Brazilian nuts to make a combination nut butter. Just roast them altogether and blend away!

How to make Almond Butter
Making the most creamiest homemade almond butter takes no time at all, with only a few simple steps.
![Almond Butter Recipe (5) Almond Butter Recipe (5)](https://i0.wp.com/cookingwithayeh.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Almond-Butter-Recipe-How-To-Make-Steps.png)
- Preheat oven to 180℃/350℉ and place almonds on a baking tray to roast for 10-12 minutes
- Allow nuts to cool down and pour into a food processor or high speed blender and blend
- Stop every few minutes and push down the mixture with a spatula to also give the blender a break and cool down
- Continue blending the mixture until you reach a creamy consistency. It can take about 20-30 minutes. I also like to add in a pinch of sea salt towards the end of blending. Allow the almond butter to cool then transfer it to a mason jar or an airtight container and enjoy!

What to serve Almond Butter with
You can add almond butter to so many recipes and dishes! I can personally just eat it with a spoon from the jar, haha! But here are some of my favorites:
- Spread on toast with slices of banana and cinnamon
- Spread on a slice of warm or toasted Banana Bread
- Drizzled on Overnight Oats
- Yogurt bowls with fruit and Granola
- Added to smoothies
- Used to make a dipping sauce for Summer Rolls
- Replacement for peanuts in my Peanut Sauce
- Make an almond butter and jam sandwich
Tips to make homemade Almond Butter
- Roasting your almonds first makes this almond butter recipe taste even better! It's best to buy raw almonds and roast them yourself. This allows the natural oils to release which makes them easier to blend
- Be patient when blending the mixture. Sometimes it feels like it's never going to blend and become creamy, but don't worry, it slowly will
- Give the food processor or blender a break every few minutes to cool down. At this time, scrape down the mixture which slowly creeps up the sides with a spatula

Anne
Not going to lie. I was super skeptical about this recipe. No added oil? However, I am pleasantly surprised at how creamy and wonderfully flavorful this turned out. It was my first time using my Vitamix food processor attachment. I have been eating it by the spoonful!
