Dod - Your Limerick is fun. However you have gone for wandering three unaccented syllables which are not in the tradition on Limerick and don't work well for me. That can be fixed and retain all the good of your Limerick. 'Trekked to' to 'of'; 'proceeded' to 'started' and drop 'sure'. Then all the rhythms in lines 1,2 and 5 are the same and lines 3 and 4 com into their own full glory. I think you have a nice laugh maker there.
